In celebration of the Tamagotchi's 20th anniversary (help), Japanese toymaker Bandai has
released an almost-exact replica of the original — you can now buy the toy for the equivalent of $18 on
Amazon.
Per the company's above video, these Tamagotchi have the same six original characters you once probably starved to death and they come in the same six hardware designs they originally did. The only difference this time around is that 21st-century Tamagotchi are half the size of the egg-shaped original,
